Message  skill in Agriculture Extension is called as the sending or delivery of information by verbal or non-verbal way in the form of words or other signs and symbols, images and videos.

After brainstorming session of message ask the question to your self that do the content of your message support the goals? When you  read it loud,is its sound conversational? Is the language simple and more concise? Do that target audience to act?

  1. UPDATE THE MESSAGE

Test the message by delivering it to the audience. Is it impactfull are not. And after the feedback of your audience finalize it. If the feedback is positive then final the message. If there is any complaint then make the changes and updates in your message.

  1. LEAD WITH VERBS NOT NOUNS

Most of people like to be motivated, they want to do something that’s why use verbs in your message content. The actual meaning of verb is doing of something.

  1. LENGTH OF SENTENCES

Sentences should not be so lengthy because audience attention diverted, loss of interest. The length of sentences must be 13-15 words. The wording should be simple, authentic and appropriate.

  1. LENGTH OF PARAGRAPH

Length of paragraph also matter. People skim over the paragraph to find things only of their interest. If the content of paragraph is lengthy bother the read. He/She will lose their interest. Content should be to the point.

 

  1. READ THE MESSAGE LOUDLY

Read the content of your message will help you to understand your content. It will tell you wether the content is good or not, what mistakes are in the content. By loud reading you will know that is content of message is impact full or not.

Message should be clear and to the point. Use simple language as you can. Do not use difficult language or words that make reader/audience head scratches.

  1. COMPLETE MESSAGE

Message content should have complete detail relevant to the topic about which you are going to discuss. You should know what types of information reader/audience want? What questions might they have?

  1. CORRECTION/MISTAKE FREE

Message should have no mistake otherwise it will cause embarrassment to you and reader/audience could not understand the information which you want to deliver.
