Applications are currently being accepted for the A*STAR Scholarship Program in Computing and Information Science. The ACIS Scholarship aims to attract top talent to study PhD in Computing and Information Science (CIS) at top educational institutions in Singapore.
ACIS Scholars will have invaluable opportunities to research real-world problems across the spectrum of computer science, from deep learning for healthcare, data analytics for enhanced machine learning, to modeling and simulation for advanced applications. Scholars will work hand-in-hand with autonomous universities, government agencies and top global companies that collaborate with A*STAR Scholarship.
Upon graduation, non-Singapore nationals will have a 3-year commitment to serve in Singapore-based companies^ with no commitment to any particular organization. The field of work should preferably be in the fields of CIS. Singapore-based companies refer to local companies and international companies that are based in Singapore and are registered with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
A*STAR Scholarship Program details
Host Institution: Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) or Singapore Management University (SMU), all in Singapore.
Field of study: Computing and information science.
Number of honors: Not specified.
Duration: Up to four years.
Target Group: Open to Singaporeans and other nationals who intend to acquire Singapore citizenship.

Benefits of the A*STAR Scholarship in Computing and Information Science
A*STAR Scholarship is fully funded and successful applicants will receive the following benefits for up to four years:

Eligibility for A*STAR Scholarship in Computing and Information Science
The A*STAR Scholarship Computing and Information Science Scholarship welcomes applications from candidates with the following status:
Singaporeans and other nationals are eligible to apply
Non-Singaporeans must have completed a degree from an Autonomous University of Singapore
Meet the criteria and gain admission to a doctoral program* at one of the following schools:
- NTU School of Computer Science and Engineering
- NUS School of Computing
- SMU School of Information Systems
- A pillar of SUTD information systems technology and design

Obtain at least a 2nd Upper Class Honors degree or equivalent in the relevant discipline
They have a strong interest in pursuing CIS research careers in industrial R&D laboratories, technology companies, spin-off companies, and/or academia.
Applicants for thematic programs who apply or have received admission to schools/departments other than the 4 CIS schools listed may be considered for an ACIS scholarship if their Ph.D. the project is in CIS, case by case. The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR Scholarship may include additional selection criteria based on prevailing scholarship policy. This policy may be changed from time to time without notice.
