The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute offers the HBI LGBTQ Jewish Research Awards for research or creative endeavors in the field of Jewish women’s and gender studies across multiple disciplines.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, grants are awarded to beginning, established and postgraduate students.

The Brandeis University International Fellowship is intended to assist projects that have the potential to significantly advance Jewish gender studies.

The National Commission on American Jewish Women, sponsored by Hadassah and led by Brandeis sociologist Shulamite Reinhard, published a study in 1995 that served as the inspiration for HBI.

Brandeis University Scholarships for International Students Benefits

The university will provide 14 awards totaling $49,000 in US dollars.

  1. Junior grants of up to $2,000 are awarded to graduate students enrolled in recognized PhD programs and to new researchers – usually within two years of receiving their PhD.
  2. Senior grants of up to $5,000 are awarded to established scholars and practitioners.
