Applications are now open for the WCCSP (WCSFP)Emerging Producers Bursary Programme 2022. The Emergent Producer’s Bursary aims to provide emerging researchers with a range of funding, including the award of a certificate and networking opportunities.
Its goal is to welcome and support young talent and encourage a new generation of congressmen and their representatives.

Young producers and content creators in science, history, wildlife and non-fiction media can receive a range of benefits through the Emerging Producers Bursary Programme, including networking opportunities and accreditation to the ’22 World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP).
The goal of the program is to inspire a new generation of members of Congress by accepting and supporting diverse young talent.
All science and non-fiction media producers and content creators, including those involved in digital, social and gaming media, are eligible to apply.
Recipients of the Emerging Producers Bursary will receive legacy accreditation discounts for WCSFP 2023 and 2024, allowing new members to attend the Congress each year.
What the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) is all about
The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) was founded by broadcasters, content providers and producers of science and fact from around the world.
Each year, members meet at a conference in a different country to meet colleagues at meetings and socials, learn about the latest business trends, and celebrate and be inspired by the useful information we create and disseminate.
Membership in the group is part of Congress registration.

Purpose and Benefits of the WCSFP Scholarship Program for Emerging Producers
Qualified applicants will be selected to receive one of the following levels of support for Congress ’22, which takes place in Glasgow, UK from 28 November to 1 December.

Full Scholarship (Tier 1)
- Full registration for the congress on the 22nd
- Travel and accommodation for four nights
- Mentoring from a Congress veteran
- Guaranteed face-to-face meetings with decision-makers
- A welcome session with leading manufacturers to help you facilitate the most efficient WCSFP possible
- Tailored help and advice to successfully navigate WCSFP
- Preferential accreditation for participation in the 2023 and 2024 Congress
- Priority for a full scholarship will be given to producers from emerging markets and digital media producers/content creators.
Partial Scholarship (Tier 2)
- Full registration for the congress on the 22nd
- A welcome session with leading manufacturers to help you facilitate the most efficient WCSFP possible
- Tailored help and advice to successfully navigate WCSFP
- Preferential accreditation for participation in the 2023 and 2024 Congress
- WCSFP Emerging Producers Scholarship Program Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be first-time WCSFP participants;
- Two priorities have been established for Tier 1 scholarships:
- Applicants outside the traditional WCSFP attendance base (ie outside Australia, Canada,
- Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, USA)
OR - Applicants who have not previously participated in a major international market event.
- The Emerging Producer Bursary Program welcomes underrepresented voices and encourages
- applications from all cultural and geographic backgrounds;
- Applicants must demonstrate experience working in the science, history, wildlife, or nonfiction genres in one of the following roles: executive producer, producer, associate producer, assistant producer, or digital, gaming, or social media content creator;
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate that their career is at a stage where they benefit from participating in a major international event.

Applicants will need to provide the following information in their application:
- A short biography
- Current CV
- Video or audio sample of the work (must be in English or with English subtitles)
- A letter of support from a broadcaster or executive producer OR In lieu of a letter of support, digital media content creators can submit a letter detailing their audience reach, including
- information on how they interact with their audiences and numbers indicating their audience and social media reach. .
- An application statement that provides additional information about the applicant, such as:
- Applicant’s involvement in science, history or non-fiction
- Applicant’s most recent or current projects
