Eligibility Criteria | Humboldt Research Fellowships 2022-2023

The scholarship appeals to postdoctoral researchers with above-average qualifications from around the world – regardless of their field.

Nationality: You are not a German national. If you are a German national or have qualified for admission to a university and a university degree or a university degree and a doctorate in Germany, you can apply if you have been living and working abroad for more than ten years and intend to continue this long-term.
Stay: In order for your application to be successful, it is possible that you will not live in Germany for more than a total of six months in the 18 months preceding your application.
Host Statement: A researcher from an academic institution in Germany of your choice will provide you with a mentoring agreement and written confirmation that research facilities are available and will compile a detailed review for you.
Additional conditions: Expert opinions and knowledge of the German or English language are required, depending on the area of ​​your research.

Scholarship Benefits

The Humboldt Research Fellowships 2022 allows you to conduct your own research at different stages of your career in collaboration with a host at a German research institution of your choice. Hosts can apply for a subsidy for research costs.

Post-docs: The monthly stipend is EUR 2,670 and lasts 6 to 24 months.
Experienced researchers: The amount of the scholarship is EUR 3,170 and lasts from 6 to 18 months
